[EB2(NIW)] Foreign Law School Professor’s NIW Petition Approved 01/10/2018

Song Law Firm’s immigration team has successfully obtained an approval of NIW petition for an expert in international trade and maritime laws who is currently serving as an arbitrator and a law professor in South Korea. The key to a successful outcome was how to effectively demonstrate his proposed endeavor in the field would have both substantial merit and national importance to the U.S., given that his expertise and renown is rather limited in South Korea. In order to meet this goal, our team conducted extensive research on the history of international trade and disputes between South Korea and the U.S., with a particular focus on the Free Trade Agreement (“FTA”), and collected strong testimonial and documentary evidence to support our client’s distinguished record of accomplishments. Based on the research and documentary evidence, we argued that the client’s expertise in the field of international trade and maritime laws will serve the U.S. national interests as an researcher, arbitrator, and educator in the field of international trade and maritime laws, which is an area of substantial intrinsic merit to the U.S. The petition was approved even without a Request for Evidence (“RFE”). Congratulations!
